BRIGHTON'S WORLD OF ENTERTAINMENT

Brighton has held its crown as an important centre for entertainment. Going all the way back to the 19th century when the Royal Pavilion was built by Prince Regent/King Georgia IV. Nowadays, Brighton is well-known for theatre and arts, and as for its clubbing scene, it is still as vibrant as it has always been. There are a lot of Brighton hotels that has seafront views, offers all facilities that is expected from quality hotels and gives one a chance to experience Brighton's entertainment.

Brighton nightlife

Aside from London, Brighton has one of the most upbeat clubbing scenes in the United Kingdom. Two of the top hot spots in Brighton that attracts a lot of the country's best DJ's are the beaches and the Digital Brighton (The Zap). A lot of pre-club bars like the Western Front and Ali-cats are located around the area of The Lanes.

Music

The biggest indoor arena in Brighton is the Brighton Centre, which regularly brings in a lot of top acts. The Brighton Dome is the city's top venue for classical music. The Dome is also used to showcase many other acts; such as, pop, folk, jazz, theatre, and dance shows. Another venue in Brighton that specializes in rock music is the Concorde 2.

Brighton's theatre, dance and comedy

Brighton theatre scene is just as booming as its nightlife scene. The city's old timer, the historic Theatre Royal is the best-known venue in Brighton. This theatre presents a lot of West End shows, comedy acts and drama productions. Brighton's smaller venues include the Nightingale Theatre, the Brighton Little Theatre, and the New Venture Theatre which has a lot of amateur productions. The "Upstairs at Three and Ten" is at the top on the list of quirkiest theatres. Komedia holds the crown as Brighton's top comedy venue. The Gardner Arts Centre which is located on the University of Sussex hosts contemporary dance.

Brighton has several multiplex cinemas; the one that is located on the seafront is the Odeon, and the UGC which can be found in Brighton Marina. An excellent choice to see arts and films with foreign languages is The Duke of York's Picture House.

Special events that are held in the city of Brighton

Brighton holds events to celebrate music, dance and theatre. Every May, a world class Festival takes place for that exact purpose. Another famous event that takes place in November is the London Brighton Veteran Car Run. In this event, pre-1905 cars will try to make it from the capital to the south coast which is a 50 mile journey.
