Bordering the Irish sea, across from Liverpool and Southport England is the town of Dublin Ireland. Depending on who you ask, Dublin may very well be one of the most interesting cities in Europe. This, coupled with its capital city status, and multicultural standing, along with its economic boom over the past ten years or so, puts it pretty high on suggested locations for your next vacation. In case you have not figured it out by now, Ireland is surrounded by water, making international entry impossible other than either by ferry or aircraft. Ferry crossings into Dublin arrive primarily from Liverpool and Holyhead, just to name two. There are other ferries that cross the ocean but will probably disembark in other cities to the north or south of the capital. If water crossings are not your style, Dublin Airport welcomes regular flights daily from London and other cities in Europe.

After you have settled in at one of the Dublin hotels, you should be ready to explore the city, and with so many sights to see, the first question would be, where should I go first? The Dublin Castle is high on the list of most travellers, and with free tours available for all, is there any wonder. Along with the different castles, there is the National Museum of Ireland, the Irish-Jewish Museum and a host of others. Whether you are simply seeking an opportunity to fill your stomach, or looking for a great experience, eating out is always satisfying. Considering its location, you should expect nothing less than a wide variety of restaurants to please every palette. Dublin caters for Italian, (bruschetta) Spanish, (Iberian-influenced bites) Vegetarian and Asian, just to name a few.

After dark, Dublin gets a second wind as they step out from whichever Dublin hotels they are staying in. A visit to one of the local pubs for a Heineken or two is just what the doctor ordered. You can visit one of the theatres (Abbey or Ambassador) and check out one of the shows, before you and your significant other skip of to the Big top where live music is available for dancing the night away. Catering for shoppers is big business for the visitors of Dublin, with stores that cater for jewellery, designer fashion, Irish crafts and clothing, books and a host of other items too many to mention. Don't forget to pick up your souvenirs to show off to your friends on your return home.
