Las Vegas - Where the Hotels are the Attractions

Las Vegas is known for a lot of things; gambling, shopping, fabulous shows, and bigger-than-life hotels. Hotels in Las Vegas are some of the biggest in the world, with many of them offering thousands of rooms. The size of the hotels is only the beginning, though. Most hotels are based on a theme that colours much of the decor and style the hotel is known for.

These jaw-dropping hotels are found (generally) in one of two areas: The Strip and downtown. The Strip has the more well-known hotels, including Caesar's Palace, The Mirage, The Luxor, and more. The downtown area also has some top-notch hotels, including The Golden Nugget and Four Queens. Whichever location you go to, the eye candy is spectacular, especially at night. The lights and neon of these locations make a casual drive down the strip an event in and of itself.

Most of what people visit Las Vegas for takes place in the hotels and includes the shows, gambling and dining. With regards to the shows, Las Vegas boasts some of the world's greatest performers from every avenue of entertainment. There are magicians, comedians, singers, dancers, circus acts, and more. If gambling is not an enjoyable pastime, one can still have a memorable vacation in Las Vegas just by taking in the shows.

The dining options in Las Vegas are even more wide-ranging than the types of entertainers found there. Pick any type of cuisine, and it will be there. From popular favourites to exotic ethnic restaurants, Las Vegas has everything imaginable. The buffets are also a big draw in Vegas, and many are open 24 hours. These buffets are huge and offer top-quality food at reasonable rates.

Of course, there is also the gambling. Las Vegas has some of the most enormous casinos on the planet and plenty of games ranging from penny slots to options that can run into the thousands of dollars per bet. Even if gambling is not the main reason for a trip to Vegas, visiting at least a few casinos is a must. They are colourful, filled with lights, sounds, and activity. The sheer size and novelty of the casinos make for a great excursion.

The Las Vegas hotels essentially are the attractions in this city known for indulgence. Stay at one and visit the rest in what is undoubtedly the most over-the-top city on earth.
