There are many sites to see, and things to do in a historic city of London. It is truly an exciting destination for any tourist. After finding a hotel in London, and booking it. The next thing to do is make a plan on what destinations you want to visit. One thing is for sure; there is something for you in London whether you’re into history, gardens or nightlife. There about 300 museums and 200 galleries that call London a home. On top of that, there are roughly 150 independent events that are happening every day. You can be sure that on your London trip, it will be busy and full of excitement.

Westminster Abbey should be on top of the list for someone who likes history. The abbey is has a long grand history, and its architecture is something to be marvelled at. There are lots of big names and famous people who are acquainted with the abbey. For now it is still a working church that performs religious services for many denominations. The abbey is also famous for the people that make it as a final resting place like Isaac Newton and Henry III.


When visiting London, don’t forget to make room in your itinerary to visit the many beautiful parks that are located here. Some of the famous ones are St. James, Reagents and Hyde Park. These parks have gorgeous gardens and trails. You can also indulge in the outdoor activities that are available such as model sail boating, tennis and soccer to name a few. Holland Park has also an interesting Japanese garden. Don’t forget Kensington gardens, which is next to Kensington Palace.

Another interesting place that has grown in popularity these days is the Covent Garden. Actually it is not a garden, but more of a cheerful eventful place. It is home to lots of theatres and shops. Entertaining street performers keeps the streets interesting. A more famous landmark in Covent Garden is the Royal Opera House.

If you are feeling adventurous in the way you shop, then you might want to visit Portobello Road. There are lots outdoor markets selling antiques, and you can haggle for prices just like centuries ago. Borough market is another popular trading place. The market has been open for centuries. It has also a unique atmosphere, a Moroccan atmosphere to be exact. It has even interesting items and foods just like the bazaars of the old.


It would be ridiculous to travel to London without visiting any of the hundreds of museums. There are wide varieties of museums in London ranging from natural history museums to science museums. In museums like Albert and Victoria museum, you have the opportunity to view personal items.
